Scout Caving weekend
Water levels were very high. We abseiled in via Pulpit pitch, but then there was a sudden increase in water levels whilst we were in the streamway. Everything was a lot wetter than usual, so we climbed out the streamway at Bypass Passage and decided the safest option was to start heading out. The entrance rift was very wet, so we decided that I would go up first and release the dam for 40-minutes, whilst the others waited in my bothy. After 40 minutes, I closed the dam and the entrance rift was now dry enough to get everyone out.
Scout caving trip to the bottom of the Goatchurch. Plus abseiling down the coal chute.
Quick trip to the bottom of the lobster pot with those who were keen.
